Rally Jameel 2025: Women Navigators Make History with First International Route
The moment has arrived! Rally Jameel, the first all-female navigation rally in Saudi Arabia, returns for its fourth edition, introducing an exciting international route that stretches across two countries. Mark your calendars for April 21-26, as 45 courageous teams from 37 different nations prepare to tackle an astonishing 1,500 kilometers of stunning landscapes, starting in Petra, Jordan, and concluding in the golden dunes of Qassim, Saudi Arabia.
An Unmatched Rally Experience
Since launching in 2022, Rally Jameel has transformed motorsports in the Middle East, being the only navigation rally exclusively for women. Unlike typical speed racing, this special event focuses on accuracy, planning, and collaboration—with GPS usage prohibited. Drivers and their co-pilots must depend entirely on maps, compasses, and roadbooks to guide them through challenging deserts, mountainous regions, and beautiful coastlines.
This year’s event is more expansive than ever, featuring:
- 45 teams (25 returning winners + 20 newcomers)
- 37 countries in participation, including Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Japan, and South Africa
- A groundbreaking cross-border journey—beginning in Petra, Jordan, and concluding in Qassim, Saudi Arabia
The Ultimate Navigation Test
The rally begins amidst the striking red cliffs of Petra, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before moving into Saudi Arabia. Participants will encounter:
- The enormous dunes of the Empty Quarter
- The steep hills of Asir
- Coastal areas along the Red Sea
- A “Night Compass” challenge under the starry desert sky
The last checkpoint? A victorious conclusion in Qassim, where champions will be announced after six demanding but thrilling days.
More Than Just a Competition—A Movement
Organized by Jameel Motorsport (the official Toyota distributor in KSA) and supported by the FIA Women in Motorsport Committee, Rally Jameel aims to empower women in the field of motorsports beyond just competition.
“We’re not merely driving; we’re creating opportunities for future generations,” remarks Saudi rally veteran Lina Al-Haddad, who is participating for her third year. “Each checkpoint we reach symbolizes another boundary we’ve overcome. ”
